Q) How do I book a rental that I am interested in?

A) Once you find a rental that you are interested in be sure to check the availability dates to coincide with your travel plans. Also make sure that the rental has the space and amenities you are looking for. Then contact the owner by filling out the contact form on the property’s listing page. The property owner or manager will then confirm the availability and send you a lease agreement/contract to secure your dates.

Q) What is the best way to contact the owner of a property that I am interested in?

A) All of the rental listings will have the home owner’s/manager’s phone number or fax number. There is also a contact form on the property’s listing page that should be filled out and sent to the owner when you want to inquire about a home.

Q) What type of down payment is necessary for the average rental?

A) It depends on the property. Usually, 20-50% upon signing the lease agreement with the remainder due 4-8 weeks prior to arrival. The rental agreement will explain those terms clearly.

Q) Where do I find the exact check-in times?

A) Those instructions should be on the Property’s listing page on VacationAtMyHome.com and also sent with the lease agreement/contract.

Q) What is the policy for refunds or cancellations?

A) Every rental agreement should explain in detail the cancellation and refund policy. In most cases you will find that language on the Property’s listing page on VacationAtMyHome.com. If it is not clearly stated on the listing page or within the rental agreement you should contact the home owner or property manager for more information.

Q) Where do I learn more about travel arrangements?

A) The property owner or manager should be able to recommend the closest airport which will have car rental services as well. You can also check the Travel Resources link on the VacationAtMyHome.com website for additional information.

Q) What type of instructions is usually given prior to arrival?

A) The property owner should provide exact directions, house key location, a main contact which includes a name and number for emergencies or questions. The property owner will usually have your contact person meet you at the property when you arrive.

Q) What should I expect for checkout?

A) Check out instructions should have been provided either with your lease agreement or found at the property. In most cases a property owner, manager or your main contact will do a final walk through of the property before you leave making sure there is no damage. If there are no problems with the property your refund could be given back to you before you leave or mailed to you within 5-10 business days.
