Property Description

This Anchorage Bed & Breakfast is a family owned and operated home. Your host, lifelong Alaskan Carol, has enjoyed sharing her home and knowledge of Alaska with her B&B guests since 1990. With separate rooms to choose from, the Big Bear Bed & Breakfast is sure to fill your needs, providing friendly, relaxing, and comfortable Alaska lodging.

Your full breakfast will feature Alaskan specialties such as reindeer sausage, sourdough waffles, wildberry toppings, blueberry coffee cake, and salmon quiche, not to mention Carol’s homemade Danish bear paws and other baked specialties.

Relax in the comfortable and tastefully decorated guest living room, complete with Alaskan art, Native crafts, a Polar Bear rug, and antique furniture. We provide a telephone, cable TV, small refrigerator, and microwave.

Enjoy wandering through the garden past annual flowers, Alaskan perennials, alpine rock garden plants, vegetables, and berries. Wind down next to the pond watching the fish and listening to the waterfall.

The Glacier Room is bathed in cool blue featuring a polar bear motif. It has a queen-sized pillow top bed and a private in-room bath with shower.

The Toklat Room is named for Denali Grizzlies with yellow on their shoulders and back, this room has 2 twin beds with convenient in-room half bath and adjoining full private bathroom with tub/shower area separated by sliding door for privacy.

The Grizzly Room is elegantly decorated in warm colors (burgandy and peach) with king size bed, private in-room bath with shower.  Antique settee and wardrobe, Eskimo dolls, butterflies and grizzly bears.  Small child only 3rd person.

The Denali Room, on the main floor, is perfect for a couple, two couples or a family. It has a queen size bed with Temper-Pedic top. An antique Murphy bed and love seat twin sleeper couch with double thick mattress are in the sitting area. The two sleeping areas are seperated by a Chinese folding screen which can be extended the entire width of the room. The adjoining private bathroom has a two person Jacuzzi tub and separate shower. The bathing/dressing area can be closed for privacy with a sliding door. The Denali room can accommodate a family with 3 - 4 children or 4 adults in separate beds.
